Michigan Gaming Control Board Ramps Up Action Against Unlicensed Gambling Sites

The Michigan Gaming Control Board is stepping up the protection of its residents by issuing cease and desist letters to a further five unlicensed casinos offering real money gambling in the state. This continues the work done across January and February, bringing the total number of sanctioned casinos to 14.

List of Sanctioned Sites

The sites that have violated Michigan Gaming regulations by offering real money online gambling without a valid license are as follows:

  • BetWhale Casino – Curaçao
  • Black Lotus Casino – Belize
  • Coins Game Casino – Curaçao
  • Love2Play Casino – Curaçao and Costa Rica
  • Orion Stars 777 Players – Sichuan Province, China

Law Violations

Each of these sites has been deemed to be in breach of several Michigan gaming regulations, including:

  • Lawful Internet Gaming Act
  • Michigan Gaming Control and Revenue Act
  • Michigan Penal Code

If found guilty, the sentenced parties could face fines of up to $100,000 and up to 10 years in prison.

When asked for comment on the latest round of cease and desist letters, the Executive Director of the MGCB, Henry Williams, said, "Our top priority is safeguarding Michigan residents by ensuring that all online gaming activities are conducted legally and safely. These operators must stop their activities or face additional legal consequences."

If you become aware of any unlicensed casinos offering real money games to Michigan players, you can report them via email at MiGamblingTip@michigan.gov or by calling 1-888-314-2682.
